Which platforms does Polyframe run on?
Polyframe Trial is available for macOS 12 or later and Windows 10 or later, with no card, key or time limit.
Can Polyframe open INDD files?
No. Ask the designer or agency to save or export the source document as IDML. Polyframe opens IDML directly and does not change the original INDD file.
Does Polyframe create the final PDF?
No. Polyframe returns translated IDML files. Because translated text can change line breaks and overflow, a designer should perform the final layout check and export the PDF in InDesign.
Do I have to use AI?
No. You can translate and review every segment manually. AI drafts, local Ollama and an Excel-compatible exchange are optional ways to support the same project.
How is Polyframe licensed?
Trial includes the complete workflow with marked IDML export. A one-time App Licence or a monthly Polyframe™ AI plan with 5,000 or 15,000 words unlocks clean IDML export; every option supports BYOK and Ollama.
Does my text leave my computer?
Project files, settings and reusable translation resources are stored locally. Manual work and Ollama can stay offline. When you choose an online translation option, selected text is transmitted for processing; Polyframe™ AI requests pass through Polyframe and its AI provider.
How is my work protected from loss?
Work is saved as a .polyframe project with languages, statuses, reusable translations and settings. The app warns before you lose unsaved changes, and project undo/redo reverses accidental bulk edits.
